Before you start.
Practical answers about scope, data connections, and working with your team.
What does Lockfield work on?
Workiva implementation and improvement across financial and management reporting, GRC, and sustainability reporting. Custom projects include budget books, structured data collection, and reader-oriented report design.
Can you improve an existing setup?
An existing setup is the starting point, not something to replace by default. Review the report, trace its links and refresh steps, and identify where repairs, simpler mappings, or training would help.
What about data connections and migration?
The work can include Wdata tables and queries, source mappings, spreadsheet models, and checks between source and report. Connections—including sending data back to another system—depend on supported interfaces, licensing, and access.
Can this fit alongside our internal team?
Separate the tasks clearly: for example, your team supplies source extracts and reviews the figures while Lockfield builds mappings and report templates. Agree who maintains each part afterward.
What affects timing and scope?
The number of reports and sources, the condition of the data, access to Workiva, and the time needed for review. Start with a representative report and its next deadline rather than an assumed delivery schedule.
Does training form part of the work?
Training can cover refreshes, corrections, link maintenance, report updates, and onboarding new contributors. Use the team’s own reporting steps and document common fixes.
Is Lockfield part of Workiva?
No. Lockfield is independent of Workiva and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Workiva.
Is the example a client project?
No. It is an illustrative quarterly reporting example, not client work or a live Workiva connection.
What happens when I use the project planner?
It creates a text brief in your browser. Nothing is submitted to Lockfield. Download the brief to keep it or share it with your team.
